Year one enjoyed a windy Victorian day at Beamish on Wednesday 13th March 2019. The skies remained dry and the children loved the experiences throughout the day. We started our fun filled day with a lesson at the Victorian school. The children got to take part in writing on blackboards with slates, pin boards for maths and reciting a poem. After that, we went for a stroll down the mine. Despite some children expressing they were scared, they all chose to go descend the mine and loved the

experience.

Next, we jumped on the old bus for a bumpy ride into the old town where we visited the dentist, the sweet shop, the bank, the bakers and many more. Our highlight was watching the strawberry and cream sweets being made and then getting to try one.

A fun day out was had by all and many visitors and staff complemented the children on their behaviour and excellent outfits. Well done Year 1.
