Sports Day 2014 – Key Stage 1

Sports Day 2014 – Key Stage 1 The weather was perfect for our School Sports Day on Friday 27th June 2014.

Key Stage 1 children took part in 6 different multi-skills activities. Children were split into teams who competed against each other to win medals.  The events were the obstacle course, ladder run, ball pass relay, bunny hop, weave and stack and the hurdle jump.[gallery orderby="rand"]

The results were:-

Purple 1053, Red 1052, Yellow 967, Green 877, Orange 868 and Blue 862.

All children enjoyed the event, which was competitive and purple team won by just 1 p

Beat the Goalie 2014

Beat the Goalie 2014 Help us to raise £1,000 towards a new outdoor play area and take part in our special ‘World Cup Beat The Goalie’ event.
How you can take part.

To help us reach our target we would like all participants to raise a minimum of between £5 to £10 sponsorship, using the form on the back of this sheet.
Return your sponsorship form and all monies to the school office by Friday 27th June 2014.
Your sponsorship form and money must be returned for your child to take part.

(Just in case you missed the dates in last week’s letter)

27th June - Sports Day. Parents are welcome to come and support their children.

The sessions are:

9.10-10.15am - Years 3 and 4;
10.45-11.45am - Years 5 and 6
1.10-2.00pm - Reception
2.00-3.00pm - Years 1 and 2

2nd July - Parents of current Reception and Year 1 children are welcome to join their child for a school lunch

- 4.30pm Meeting for parents of children joining Nursery and Reception in September.

Sainsbury’s Active Vouchers

Sainsbury’s Active Vouchers We have been collecting Sainsbury's Active Vouchers to go towards getting some new Sports and Cooking equipment for Redesdale. We had a target of 4,000 Vouchers and I am pleased to say that we reached the target with a total of 4,100 vouchers collected.

Thankyou to everyone who has colelcted vouchers and brought them into school as this gives us the opportunity to exchange the vouchers for new equipment. All children in school will benefit from the new resources which have now been ordered.

If parents wish to order uniform through school please ensure the orders are handed in to the office by Friday 16th May. This includes orders for PE kits.
 Homework Support
We are asking for parents support in ensuring your child is still putting their best efforts into their homework. It is important that they continue to hand homework in on the right day but also ensure that they take care with their presentation. Younger children should be using pencils to do their writing and older children can use pen if that is what they use in class.

Key Stage One News On The Farm

Welcome back year 1 and 2. We hope you have all had a lovely break.
