Year 3 and 4 took part in a Rhythm, Art and Poetry Workshop where they produced a wonderful display based on our topic for next term 'Around the World'. Each class helped with a different part of the display. In Year 4 we have been looking at endangered animals. Some of us got information for  our endangered animal that we had to put into our report. We also included headings,sub-headings,diagrams and lots of facts.

On Friday we created 3D habitats.  The habitats were sea,woodland,jungle,desert and arctic.

In Yr 4 we did algebra today and did the grid method and number lines to help us solve the number sentences.

Yesterday Yr 3/4 made our own snake wreathes.

Year 6 blog In English we have been doing autobiographies and biographies we have done a biography on the person sitting next to us.A couple of weeks ago we had some people who came in called the magistrates. They're teaching us about something called Granny's handbag.Today they are coming back in so next week we will tell you more about it.

Year 6 blog A homework club has just started for the year 6's  to come along and do their  sats homework. It will take place on Monday nights straight after school .

Yesterday after noon the year 6's did a workshop called Granny's Handbag there was a handbag with the thing that the robber stole from the granny . Each table had to be  a different character: robber, granny , paramedic and a witness . we had to but our self in their shoes and think how it would feel. Then we watched a little slide show to see what happened .

Year 6 Art Club Art Club will start on Monday 14th January 2013 for Year 6 children. The club will run for 5 weeks. Children will receive application letters the first week of term. Looking forward to seeing you all for more arty & crafty activities!

What we have been doing in Year 6

What we have been doing in Year 6 We had our last performance on Friday and it went really well.You could not tell that 4 year sixes were off!

Within the last couple of days we have been knitting Christmas stockings together. Soon we will start sticking things on like snowmen and Santa. Eventually we will be taking our stockings home so people can use them for decorations for their Christmas trees.

We are going to start our Christmas cards soon.We will be sending them home at the end of the week.

Yr 6 blog Today is our first Christmas performance and I think that everyone will be nervous. Especially for the year 6 actors. Just a reminder there are no more tickets left.

We have our Christmas party next  week  and it is going to be really fun! Remember to bring your letters to go home at lunch time and then come back  at 1 pm.

Next week we are going to Whitley bay play house to see the  pantomime called Cinderella . It is going to be really fun to watch because the actors are really funny .

yr5 blog Hello I'm the yr 5 blogger 

This week of course has been exciting with Christmas coming up.In art we have made a Christmas stocking to put on our tree at home.We have used blanket stitching to keep the felt together. We have the  play this week so if you come I hope you have a great time!

 

Yr 5 are singing Herod and are wearing roman suits and hats. Our play this year is about the Christmas  jigsaw .

 

in literacy we are planning a story about a super hero they need to save the world from villains.

Our Field of Remembrance

Our Field of Remembrance As part of  R.E and PSHCE lessons all of the children have been learning about Remembrance Sunday. Children from Nursery through to Year 6 have listened to talks, watched powerpoints and listened to reflective music all based around the theme of Remembrance Sunday. Each child has also completed a poppy. Nursery children decorated their poppies with glitter and sequins. Year 1 and 2 have all put their names on a poppy and some have even thought about who they would like to remember over the weekend.
