Redesdale Remembers – 1918-2018 Children at Redesdale have been preparing for Rememberance Day by making poppies to add to our poppy waterfall.  They enjoyed learning about the Great War in our rememberance assembly and took part in a 2 minute silence at 11am.

Year 5 visit to ALPHABETTI Theatre!

Year 5 visit to ALPHABETTI Theatre! Year 5 enjoyed a visit to the ALPHABETTI Theatre to take part in ‘Walter: A WW1 experience’.  They learned all about life during WW1 for soldiers at the Doscovery Museum and the. Enjoyed a drama workshop to learn about animals who helped during WW1.

 

We enjoyed watching the production of ‘Walter’ at the Theatre followed by a creative writing workshop and trench experience.

STEAM week – Fossil Fun! Nursery Children have had a super week learning about the work of Mary Anning; a palaeontologist famous for her fossil collections and contributions to scientific knowledge of the prehistoric world. Learning about dinosaurs, making dinosaur hats and singing songs about dinosaurs, are just some of the exciting activities they have done this week. Take a look at their fossils made out of clay! All agreed that clay was a bit like playdough but it felt cold!

Year 1 ‘s Trip to St. Mary’s Lighthouse

Year 1 ‘s Trip to St. Mary’s Lighthouse Year one had an excellent day learning about the lighthouse and looking for signs of life in the surrounding rock pools. We climbed all the way to the top of the lighthouse and really enjoyed finding the crabs; some of which were rather large!

Year 6 visit to Tyneside Cinema Year 6 have been learning all about the history of the Tyneside Cinema.  Today they enjoyed a visit to the cinema and had a tour and learnt more about the history of the cinema.  We also had great fun completing our IMutt challenge!

Reception enjoy a fabulous day out at Newcastle Keep! Reception children have enjoyed a fabulous day at Newcastle Keep. We have been on an exciting tour of the castle, learning about the history of the castle and visiting the Great Hall, the dungeons, the chapel, the well, the solar room and many more. The view from the top of the Castle was amazing, overlooking the Quayside and seeing all the bridges, the river Tyne and the Sage. We could also see the trains leaving Central Station and passing right next to the castle. A highlight for some of the boys was spotting St.James Park!
