In Yr4 swimming we have been making progress, in our group we have been jumping,diving and swimming in the deep end. We have also been swimming lengths including the swimming techniques breaststroke, front crawl and backstroke.
Miss Thompson's set has been doing the grid method in maths.At home do the grid method for this multiplication question 96 x 9=? If you got that correct try this question 96 x 56=?.

On Wednesday year 2 children took part in the multi skills event at Burnside School. The children carried out a number of activities and worked very hard. They all received a certificate for their effort and sportsmanship.

The year 4s have been going swimming for 4 days so far and 3 weeks and 2 days in total. In my group (Leon) I have been doing the back stroke and the front crawl. Me and Harry do not have to use our floats because we can swim. My group (Tilly) have been doing front crawl,back stroke,butterfly,forward roll,handstand and breast stroke.Today we are doing lengths across the pool. Everyone is enjoying swimming and learning a lot.
The year 3s are making a bomb shelter while the year 4s are away swimming.They are also finding out about circuits and electricity. Read More »

Welcome to the Summer term!
In yr 3-4 we are reading a new book called Goodnight Mister Tom by Michelle Magorian. It is set during World War Two. Someone says it is sad but we haven't read that much yet.
Yr 4 will be starting swimming every afternoon from Thursday. We are looking forward to it!
We are doing fractions in maths and we are refreshing our memory about adding fractions to make 1 and finding fractions of amounts .
Now since it is lovely weather the field is open.

Hello we have a new member called Jack. I am very funny and 8 years old.
We have been practising how to skip for the skipping festival at Burnside. We learnt of different skills like the cross over, the butterfly, double bounce and face to face.
On Friday it was very muddy, however we were allowed to go on the field and search for some different animal's habitats. We found lots of habitats like water,woodland,sky and underground.
We went on Google Earth and we found our houses. We also looked at where we wanted to go.

This is our first day back and we all hope you had a good Christmas and a Happy New Year!
This year we are starting a new Topic about Mexico so that should be fun to learn
Today in Maths we have been learning how to do the inverse operation.Very soon we will be given our Sats Homework to revise for our Sats in May.
In English we have been finishing our Topic about space.
School council will be starting next week.

Today Year 3 & 4 had dance mat sessions in the sports hall. This was great fun and really challenged the children's co-ordination skills. They all concentrated very hard and put a lot of effort in. The teachers even joined in too!

Hello I'm Bailey the year 5 blogger
This week in yr 5 we have been looking at fractions in maths. We have been learning about equivalent fractions. For example : 1 half is the same as 2 quarters.
In literacy we have been looking at newspapers .We have looked at the features of them then comparing them to a police report.This is still linked to our book 'Tuesday'.

Last week year 1 had lots of fun celebrating Kipper's Birthday. We read the story and made invitations for his party, wrote a birthday card and made shopping list for his party. In maths we weighed Kipper's birthday presents, ordered streamers from smallest to largest and we made birthday cupcakes. In P.E we played party games to celebrate his birthday. We had a lot of fun!

Year 3 and 4

The children in Year 4 took part today in the North Tyneside Festival of Sport at the Lakeside Centre, Killingworth. The awful British weather tried it's best to spoil our fun, but here at Redesdale we are never defeated! The children enjoyed over 16 different indoor sporting activities. We enjoyed meeting children and staff from the many different schools in North Tyneside. We hope you enjoy looking at the photographs!
