On Wednesday year 2 children took part in the multi skills event at Burnside School. The children carried out a number of activities and worked very hard. They all received a certificate for their effort and sportsmanship.

Famous People
Welcome back! I hope you all had a relaxing break.
This half term we are starting a new topic, ‘Famous People’, where we will be looking at Florence Nightingale, Beatrix Potter, George Stephenson and Louis Braille.
The Easter coffee afternoon proved to be a big success. We would like to thank everyone for their kind contributions. We would also like to say a big thank you to the children who worked very hard baking for the afternoon. All the money raised will be used to buy new resources to enrich the children's learning.

This morning year 1 went on an Easter trail on the school yard. We had to solve the problems to work out the secret code. The first two groups with the answer 'Easter' got an envelope telling them the special prize was in the boat. The prize was chocolate eggs.

The children in Reception have had a brilliant day dressed as Scientists for Science day and Comic Relief. We have had great fun conducting different experiments. We put Mentos mints into a cola bottle and watched as it shot out of the bottle all over the grass! It made some of us jump! We made our Dinosaur volcano erupt with green food colouring and also did a melting experiment. Half of the class had a piece of milk chocolate and half the class had a piece of white chocolate, we had to let the chocolate melt on our tongues and not chew it (this was very hard!) and then put our hand up onc
