Year 5 Art Club

Dance Festival

Dance Festival Year 1 and 2 took part in North Tyneside's Dance Festival on Friday 8th March.  The children showed their love of dance through their fantastic performance to the song 'We love to boogie'.  Well done for all the hard work at rehearsals, you were all stars on the night!

Chinese New Year Trip

Chinese New Year Trip Today we visited China Town on Stowell Street.  We learnt all about Chinese New Year and the traditions it involves.  We completed a quiz based on the Chinese Arch, made a Chinese snake painting, tasted food and we all got a Chinese New Year Lai See which is a red envelope with money in which is said to bring good luck.  Fun was had by all!

The B Word Production

The B Word Production On Tuesday 6th November 2012, children from Year 1 to Year 6 were visited by Firehorse Productions. They came to school to present The B Word, which is an anti bullying production.  The story was all about Danni and the issues she faced when moving to a new school. At the beginning of the play Danni meets Tom and Phoebe, but they are not nice to Danni and make her feel unwelcome and isolated. Tom and Phoebe think they are just 'having a laugh' but soon their behaviour is revealed to be thoughtless and unkind.

Samaritan’s Purse: Operation Christmas Child

Samaritan’s Purse: Operation Christmas Child Over the last month we have been collecting shoe boxes to go to Romania, Bosnia, Belarus and Serbia. Our boxes are being collected today and taken to the warehouse for sorting. There are some  school council members visiting the warehouse on Wednesday 14th November 2012 to learn about the sorting process. This year we have managed to collect over 60 boxes! Our Field of Remembrance

Our Field of Remembrance As part of  R.E and PSHCE lessons all of the children have been learning about Remembrance Sunday. Children from Nursery through to Year 6 have listened to talks, watched powerpoints and listened to reflective music all based around the theme of Remembrance Sunday. Each child has also completed a poppy. Nursery children decorated their poppies with glitter and sequins. Year 1 and 2 have all put their names on a poppy and some have even thought about who they would like to remember over the weekend.
