On Thursday we had a team of people in to do a Show Racism The Red card workshop. We learned how different kinds of racism is used and how it can effect people. We did a fitness fun activity where we had to kick a ball off a bench.
Yesterday year 6 went on a school trip to Safety Works where we did lots of activities related to being safe in common places. We did a fire escape plan if ever we need to use it. In the A&E department we learned how to deliver CPR and help somebody if they're choking. We learned how to put someone in the recovery position.

Year 3 & 4 had their Christmas party this afternoon. There was lots of dancing going on as well as some great games. We had to make a tower of Rolos using only one hand as fast as we could. We played pass the parcel, corners and musical statues. We also played the balloon game, passing the ballon backwards and forwards and trying to be the first team to burst the balloon.
It was great fun! Have a look at our photos below.[gallery columns="4" orderby="rand"]

Some of our children recently helped the local housing officers of the Westmoreland Estate by picking up litter and helping to identify gardens that needed tidying and fences that needed mending. The children thoroughly enjoyed the walk around the estate and the officers were very impressed with their hard work and desire to help make some of their streets better places.

On Wednesday 14th November Strider came to school to welcome children as they came through the school gate. Russell Cave, our Living Streets (Walk once a Week) coordinator came with Strider to meet children and parents.
Russell also led our assembly and reminded us all of the benefits of walking to school. So far this year our Year 2 children have been the biggest group to walk once a week collecting the most badges for September and October.
