Foundation Stage
in Art, we have been looking at spirals. Children have created spiral snails focusing on texture and lines. We have then looked at observational drawings of shells adding patterns, lines and shading. Then we have used tracing paper to trace over shells. We hope you enjoy looking at some of our work.
Foundation Stage
Year one visited St. Mary’s lighthouse where we explored the rock-pools and caught many different sea creatures. We then learned about the history of the island and lighthouse. Then we ventured up the 137 steps to the to the top of the lighthouse for some amazing views. Finally, we walked back along the causeway to the beach for some creative beach art. A massive thank you to all our parent helpers and to our children who represented Redesdale so well. We received so many positive comments from staff and visitors about your polite manners and behaviour!
Foundation Stage
Year one have been into the woodland to use natural materials to create Art inspired by Flora and Fauna. Children looked in the area for materials they could use to create pictures on wooden circles.
This work has to celebrate all our drawings and different representations we have completed during Summer 1 term.

The Nursery children have enjoying experimenting with colour this week. We have read stories, looked through cellophane circles and explored what happened when we painted our hands different colours and rubbed them together!
Foundation Stage
Year 1 have started our Art and Geography project of making a 3D map of Newcastle using papier-mâché. So far we have a river, a Sage building and developing the landscape. Over the next few weeks we will be developing the landscape using different material linking to our materials topic in Science and creating sculptures linked to our Art unit.
Lower Key Stage Two
Year 3 have been exploring the use of gestural marks created using Charcoal. Throughout the project children have developed their understanding of creating mood and atmosphere within their work. Today they created a final masterpiece inspired by artist Heather Hansen. It was very messy but lots of fun!

In Art, Year 1 have been using pastels and chalks to create Spiral Snails. We have explored making patterns and exploring blending colours.

It was fantastic welcoming everyone back into school and having fun with the Easter crafts this afternoon. Thank you so much for all your support and we hope you all had a good time.

Foundation Stage
In Art and Design we have chosen different media for effect when planning our collages. We then created these amazing masterpieces and we are very proud of them. The different materials we used included cotton wool, bubbble wrap, foil, paint, wood shavings, string, wool, fabric, glitter, tissue paper, glue, pipe cleaners, twigs, buttons and gems.

Year 1 have enjoyed making Peg Doll Characters linked to our Victorian toys In History. The children had a choice of different media to choose from to create their character and many have said they will ask to make more at home.
