New Reception Parents Dear Parent/Carer,
Welcome to Redesdale Primary School. We are delighted to welcome you and your child to Redesdale Primary School. We are very much looking forward to supporting your child as they begin their journey with us.
To help prepare you and your child for starting Reception, we have included a number of important documents and links. Please see below for a brief explanation of each:
- Stay and Play Invitation
You are warmly invited to attend a Stay and Play session with your child. This is a valuable opportunity to support their transition, helping them to become familiar with the environment and staff. The sessions are on Tuesday 23rd June & Friday 26th June 10.30- 12.15pm, they will start with a play session and finish with your child sampling a school lunch. Please only select one of the sessions. Please use the links on the date to confirm which date you are attending and use this link to order a school lunch.
- Lunch Menu
Lunch on the stay and play session is off the week 2 menu (allergen menu).
- Welcome Booklet
This booklet gives further details about our curriculum, daily routines, and what your child will experience during their time in Reception.
- Password
In order to ensure our protocols and procedures are secure in relation to the safe collection of pupils from school, we would ask parents of pupils in to provide a password for any other responsible adult(s) who may collect your child(ren).
Parents will need to communicate this security password to any other adult collecting your child(ren) from school. On the rare occasions that adults not known to the school staff present themselves at school to collect the child, the staff will ask for their password and will hand over the child only if the correct password is communicated. Please complete the online form to create the password. If your child currently attends our Nursery, then we will use the password you previously set.
- School Milk Information
Your child is entitled to free school milk. Please follow the link to register and ensure they receive this.
- Preparing For Reception
A document providing tips for getting your child ready for Reception. This ‘Steps For School’ video which you can watch with your child also gives tips.
