The Summer 1 after school enrichment club enrolment form has been emailed out to parents. Enrolment is from Monday 27th March 2023 and closes on Friday 31st March 2023.
Paper copies of the application form are available from the school office. Forms and monies to be put into an envelope with your child’s name on and these will be processed at the office in the order we receive them.

Year 1 have started our Art and Geography project of making a 3D map of Newcastle using papier-mâché. So far we have a river, a Sage building and developing the landscape. Over the next few weeks we will be developing the landscape using different material linking to our materials topic in Science and creating sculptures linked to our Art unit.

The Great Fire of Redesdale Primary!
Year 2 have enjoyed learning about The Great Fire of London. We designed wooden doors, wrote a set of instructions and today we watched as our houses burnt down in a matter of minutes! The children were able to talk about their senses in preparation for their next piece of writing.

Lower Key Stage Two

Year 3 have loved their DT project week learning all about Mechanical Systems: Levers and linkages.
They investigated and evaluated a range of lever systems. They focused their attention to the purpose of the output and where to place the fixed and loose pivot points. Some great focus when using craft knives too. Children then designed a Christmas card with a moving part and used a lever system of their choice to make it work.

The after school enrichment clubs for Spring 1 have been emailed to parents and enrolment starts on Tuesday 13th December 2022.
Please print off the enrolment form or collect a paper copy from the school office.
There will be a new lunch time running club for Key Stage 1 on a Wednesday lunch time plus years 3 and 4 can join running this this half term on a Friday lunch time.

Year 3 have been exploring the use of gestural marks created using Charcoal. Throughout the project children have developed their understanding of creating mood and atmosphere within their work. Today they created a final masterpiece inspired by artist Heather Hansen. It was very messy but lots of fun!

Enrolment for Autumn 2 term after School Enrichment clubs starts from Monday 17th October and closes on Friday 21st October 2022. All parents and carers have been emailed the form and paper copies are available from the school office.
There are 11 different clubs running including three new clubs which have never run before. Mrs Smith and Mr Carruthers are running a Ninja Yoga club for Year 1 and 2 and Mrs Meddour is running a French a club for Year 1 and 2. Mr Shackleton is running a Lego/Vex robotics club for years 3,4,5 and 6.

Year 3 have been studying the Stone Age in their history lessons. They enjoyed a great day at the Rising Sun taking part in a range of workshops to deepen their understanding of life in the Stone Age times. They learnt how to grind wheat, made bread and cooked it on a fire and made shelters!
