Foundation Stage
The Nursery children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the woodland area in the hunt for Superworm! We read the story and carefully moved the logs to see which minibeasts we could find. We also discussed the sounds we could hear, the pigeons were very noisy! We look forward to future projects in the woodland area soon.

The Summer 1 after school enrichment club enrolment form has been emailed out to parents. Enrolment is from Monday 27th March 2023 and closes on Friday 31st March 2023.
Paper copies of the application form are available from the school office. Forms and monies to be put into an envelope with your child’s name on and these will be processed at the office in the order we receive them.

The Nursery children had so much fun playing in the snow this morning. They made snowmen, colourful snow potions, used the wheelbarrows and diggers to move it around the area and used paintbrushes to make marks. Let’s hope we get some more tomorrow!

The Nursery children have enjoying experimenting with colour this week. We have read stories, looked through cellophane circles and explored what happened when we painted our hands different colours and rubbed them together!

Year 1 have started our Art and Geography project of making a 3D map of Newcastle using papier-mâché. So far we have a river, a Sage building and developing the landscape. Over the next few weeks we will be developing the landscape using different material linking to our materials topic in Science and creating sculptures linked to our Art unit.

The Nursery children took part in a range of activities to celebrate Chinese New Year! We made Chinese lanterns, red dragons with play dough and took part in a dragon dance!
Burns
Monday 9th January 2023 is a Teacher Training Day. We look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Tuesday 10th January 2023.
Lower Key Stage Two
Year 3 have loved their DT project week learning all about Mechanical Systems: Levers and linkages.
They investigated and evaluated a range of lever systems. They focused their attention to the purpose of the output and where to place the fixed and loose pivot points. Some great focus when using craft knives too. Children then designed a Christmas card with a moving part and used a lever system of their choice to make it work.

Foundation Stage
The after school enrichment clubs for Spring 1 have been emailed to parents and enrolment starts on Tuesday 13th December 2022.
Please print off the enrolment form or collect a paper copy from the school office.
There will be a new lunch time running club for Key Stage 1 on a Wednesday lunch time plus years 3 and 4 can join running this this half term on a Friday lunch time.
