Year 6 Eco-Engineers really enjoyed the practical workshops during our visit to Nissan. After testing the wind turbine models we had made at school, we experimented with wind-powered vehicles to investigate the optimum ratio of power to distance. In the afternoon session, we tested electrically-powered model cars to calculate the energy needed to drive the vehicle in a controlled, forward direction. This was followed by a short, but exciting, journey in the latest model of the Nissan Leaf eco-friendly car.
Three Y5 teams took part in the Newcastle Eagles Hoops4Health Tournament on Friday 31 January 2020 at the Eagles Arena on Scotswood Rd. All three teams enjoyed success in their individual groups but it was Redesdale 1 that topped their group with convincing victories against: Christchurch; Cullercoats; New York and Monkhouse. After scoring 48 points and only conceding 4, Redesdale 1 qualified for the knock out match to determine who would move on to the Grand Finals on Friday 28 February 2020 and take part in a semi-final for the chance to play in the final, at half-time, on the main court
Reception enjoyed their visit from the Brush Up Team. They learned all about how to correctly brush their teeth and why it is important.
Redesdale Primary School are proud to announce that we have achieved our School Games Gold Award for the Academic Year 2018-19. We would like to thank everyone who has supported our commitment, engagement and delivery of competitive school sport and look forward to applying again next year.
