Foundation Stage
Year 1 have continuing their learning sharing ideas on how to stay safe when using the internet. We have been learning about pop ups, fake news and if we see something which is not right to talk to an adult.
Lower Key Stage Two
Our Year 6 DigiLadies enjoyed a project day with Laura Dickinson from North Tyneside Learning Trust. Their first project was to code the Spheros to create some sphero art. In the afternoon they coded the chorus to a song ready to have a Dash Dance Off.
Lower Key Stage Two
Recently 4 of our Year 6 girls were asked to be part of a project alongside Miss Anderson to become ‘DigiLadies’, working alongside other schools and Laura Dickinson from North tyneside Learning Trust. The project aims to inspire girls to embark in careers in the tech industry. To get the project started the girls had a visit to the BETT show in London. They had a fantastic time and the experience was invaluable.
Lower Key Stage Two
Year 5 have been learning all about Maria Sibylla Merian who was an entomologist who loved bugs. She was a fantastic artist who had great attention to detail of the flowers and bugs she painted.
The children have also enjoyed building a huge bridge with ICE Bridges. They have been amazing engineers this week and throughly enjoyed STEAM 2018.
Lower Key Stage Two
Year 5 Digital Ambassadors have started their coding club with Year 1 children. They decided to use ‘Daisy The Dinosaur’ coding app to introduce coding skills.
The Digital Ambassadors recorded the children’s learning and progress using Seesaw and annotated their screen shots with a caption about how the learner had got on.
They have now planned challenges for the next session.
Lower Key Stage Two
Year 5 had a fantastic day at the Newcastle University Computing Challenge Day. The class competed in 4 challenges against 3 other schools. The6 had a great day.

Our new team of Digital Leaders had a great time at the Digital Leaders Training yesterday. They worked collaboratively alongside other school children to develop their understanding of what a Being a Digital Leader will involve. It was also very fun developing coding skills using the SPRK+ sphero kit.
Lower Key Stage Two
Year 4 have been learning how to use Scratch to create code which explains the water cycle. We have seen great team work and peer support throughout this project.
